Seven days, over 100 restaurants, and the traditional offer of dining out for only £10 or £15 per head at some of the city’s top restaurants, NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week returns from 6 -12 August with almost 50,000 people expected to take part over the course of the week.

The dates have been set for NE1’s Newcastle Motor Show 2018. The two day event, first launched in 2015, will take place over the weekend of Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August with the grand finale, the ‘grand depart’ at 4pm on both afternoons. This year, Blackett Street in Newcastle will be pedestrianized for the event adding over 1000 sq metres of exhibition street space to what has become one of the largest, free, city centre open-air motor shows in the UK.

Northumberland Street in Newcastle is being given a green make-over this summer. It is all part of a transformation aimed at creating a village green style area in the heart of the city’s traditional retail heartland – helping to make it fun for families and improve the area for people who live, work in and visit the city centre.

Blackett Street in Newcastle will be unrecognisable for 10 weekends of the summer – 6 of those weekends will see the street transformed by NE1 from a busy bus route into a pedestrian only, family park and playground, equipped with artificial grass, seating, fairground rides and large outdoor games.
