On the 1st day of Christmas, NE1 unveiled its festive windows across Newcastle city centre. Commissioned designs and winning entries from this year’s Christmas design competition have been installed across vacant retail units creating a festive window trail for people to enjoy in the run up to Christmas.

North East street artist and graphic designer, Mul Draws, whose large-scale, colourful and eye-catching murals can be found on prominent sites and buildings across Newcastle, has been commissioned by NE1 to produce their latest and most ambitious street art project to date. Mul Draws will transform the former bus lane on the Quayside into a work of art with his signature colourful and vibrant style.

NE1’s Newcastle Restaurant Week in August was a record breaking success surpassing all previous records.

Dragon Boat Racing is returning to the Tyne on Saturday 3 September. NE1 has teamed up with the organisers, Atlantic Dream, and the North East Chinese Association to bring the spectacular racing event back to the river and to give people the chance to take part either individually, or as part of their own team of up to 16 paddlers plus a drummer. Challenge your friends, families or workmates to take part in the race of a lifetime rowing a Dragon Boat on the Tyne. Places are still available.
