Through its flagship Revitalising our Estuaries programme; community and environmental charity Groundwork NE & Cumbria has spearheaded the development of a first of its kind ‘floating nature island’ to be installed on Newcastle Quayside in July.

NE1’s Screen on the Green returns to Newcastle city centre on Monday 27 June with a packed schedule of international sport, starting with tennis from Wimbledon and football action from the Women’s European Championships before launching six weeks of family movies, screened for free during the school holidays.

NE1 is launching a new Business Crime Reduction Partnership in Newcastle, collaborating with the business community, Northumbria Police, and Newcastle City Council.

NE1 CAN, NE1’s unique careers insight and inspiration programme, is hosting a Day of Inspiration event on 10 March for over 200 young people from across the North East.
