NE1’s Grey Street Gathering returns to Newcastle city centre next week, on Monday 8 April in time for Easter, the school holidays and hopefully the start of some warm, spring weather. The pocket park is a fabulous addition to Newcastle’s famous Grey Street, paid for thanks to the generosity of NE1’s Geordie Jackpot subscribers.

To celebrate the completion of the newly redeveloped Bigg Market – NE1 Ltd with support from Newcastle City Council’s Market Team will be hosting the first ever ‘Bigg Market Bash’, a family fun day and street food market in the Bigg Market on Saturday 13 April from 11am to 4pm.

NE1 Ltd in partnership with Newcastle City Council and British Cycling are delighted to announce that Newcastle has been chosen to host a major, elite HSBC UK | National Circuit Series cycle race, which will be staged in the heart of the city centre on the evening of Wednesday 10 July.

Building work will start in a matter of weeks on the Bigg Market’s iconic Former Gentleman’s WC building in Newcastle as part of NE1 Ltd’s National Lottery Heritage Fund regeneration of the Bigg Market historic quarter.
