NE1 Ltd’s Geordie Jackpot, the local lottery for the North East teamed up with Metro Radio’s Cash for Kids to deliver two exclusive Superhero Film Screenings for sick and disadvantaged children in Newcastle. The event was held on Sunday 12 May at the Tyneside Cinema attended by extra special guests, four Superhero characters.

Work begins tomorrow – Tuesday 14 May - to bring back NE1 Ltd’s Quayside Seaside for the 7th year consecutive year. The construction will begin at 8am on Tuesday with the pop up beach returning with a bigger space and a new sponsor, Northumbrian Water. The beach will be open to the public by Friday 24 May. The Northumbrian Water Quayside Seaside will remain in place until October with a programme or activities and visiting food vendors to be arranged throughout the summer holidays.

The bunting and streamers have been packed away after NE1’s inaugural Bigg Market Bash on Saturday 13 April, but the celebrations are set to continue.

Engineering company, Siemens is sponsoring the Siemens Boat Race of the North for the next two years – a company working to create a smarter, more sustainable energy supply for UK cities and infrastructure.
